| Abstract |
Growth and survival of seeds collected in the Mar Menor (SE of Spain) were compared during 3 different years. The experiments carried out showed that there were three kinds of seeds according to growth, the first reached commercial size in the first year of culture, the second between the end of the first year and the second year, and the third showed very low growth. The survival rate ranged between 63-94% and the optimal densities (ind./b) for the "Galician basket" (b) according to the size were: 100, from the beginning until they reached 35mm; 50, from 35mm, until 60mm, and 20 until they reached commercial size. |
