Description
A multi-faceted approach (using taxis-to-food, fitness and interspecific interactions experiments) to understand how resource diversity mediates the coexistence of cryptic marine nematode species Litoditis marina. more

Our study investigated the effects of resource diversity on foraging behavior, fitness and interspecific interactions of four cryptic bacterivorous nematode species (Pm I-IV) of Litoditis marina with sympatric field distributions. Three resource (bacteria) diversity levels (low, medium, high) were used as food treatments. Twenty-five marine bacterial strains were used for the food diversity treatments, which were selected because they were found to be part of the microbiome sensu lato of specimens of at least one cryptic species of L. marina in the field. Here, we present the taxis-to-food, fitness and interspecific interactions data of the four cryptic of L. marina on different food diversity treatments.
