Description
In association with a regional marine biodiversity project, we are studying the movements of green turtles on their foraging grounds in Corisco Bay, which includes both Equato-Guinean and Gabonese waters. While we have been tracking turtles captured in Gabon since March 2010, satellite tracking of green turtles from Equatorial Guinea began only recently, in January 2011. The project aims to examine size-based foraging patterns of the Corisco Bay population of green turtles. These movement data will be integrated with a transborder characterization of the local habitat and an assessment of anthropogenic threats; some in Gabon, some in Equatorial Guinea. The results of the project will assist local and international organisations to protect this globally endangered species. Scope Themes: Biology > Reptiles Keywords: Marine/Coastal Contributors
