VLIZ wins International Marine Education Award in the US

The Ocean Literacy movement, originated in the US, wants to impart the basic knowledge and understanding of the importance of the oceans with citizens, through education and beyond. In 2012 VLIZ was the organizer of the first Conference on Ocean Literacy in Europe. In the same year it co-founded the European Marine Science Educators Association (EMSEA) and since then it is instrumental in the development of a trans-Atlantic Ocean Literacy. Evy Copejans is working in the communication team of VLIZ since 2006.
