Last year the FP7-project Eurofleets offered fully sponsored ship time for European marine researchers (see news alert of 26 February 2011).
Awarded Belgian researchers:
Katrien Van Landeghem (student Renard Centre for Marine Geology of the Ghent University, doctor's degree from the University of Dublin and now active at the University of Liverpool) could go to the Irish Sea with the Celtic Voyager (April 2012).
In the beginning of June 2012 a international team led by the Universität Fribourg (Switserland) were on board of RV Belgica for a campaign to the Porcupine Seabight (Ireland).
David Van Rooij (Renard Centre for Marine Geology of the Ghent University) leaves in the beginning of August 2012 with the Ramon Margalef to the Alboran Sea.
Kelle Moreau of the Institute for Agricultural and Fisheries Research (ILVO) was promised a campaign with the RV Bilim to the Black Sea. Unfortunately this trip had to be cancelled.
