The Continental Shelf Service of the FPS Economy organises a new seminar on sand extraction in the Belgian part of the North Sea this year. The seminar ‘Gold in the North Sea: the importance of sea sand and innovations in terms of monitoring and research’ will take place on Friday 18 October 2024 at the InnovOcean Campus in Ostend.
We will start by discussing monitoring results in a plenary session. Several information sessions, workshops, demos, etc. will cover the innovations and novelties regarding monitoring and regulation, scientific research, coastal defence and the industrial use of sea sand. We will conclude with a plenary session on sand demand and sand supply.
