Abstract
    Cruise G4 had two objectives: 1. establish the Late Cenozoicpaleoenvironments of Kau Bay, Halmahera and 2. establish the origin andextent of Mn encrustations West of Misool. Both objectives were based onobservations made during the first Snellius expedition in 1929-1930. Athird task was to recover a string of current meters that was moored inLifamatola Strait in January 1985 during theme II operations.
