The VLIZ North Sea award wants to reward a recent and original marine scientific work, that is preferably relevant to the sustainable management of our oceans. Studies that treat the biodiversity of the local ecosystem are also welcome.
Marine researchers (or a research group) have to be affiliated to a Belgian research institution and the contribution has to be of postgraduate or postdoctoral level. The prize amounts to 1000 euros and is indivisible.
The North Sea Award 2016 will be presented on the 17th VLIZ Marine Science Day which will take place on Friday 3 March 2017. Mark this date in your agenda and make sure to be there!
Application can be submitted at the Flanders Marine Institute up to 30 November 2016. More information on the selection procedure and the criteria for participation are stated in the regulations (in English) and on the VLIZ-website. To fill in the application form you can find here (in English).
