Abstract
Limaria rotundata (Olivi, 1792) is mentioned for the first time living in West Africa, namely in the coastal waters of Angola. This species is compared with the similar Indo Pacific species L. fragilis (Gmelin, 1791) and its Mediterranean-West African neighbour Limaria tuberculata (Olivi, 1792), all three have always been confused in recent literature.
