Abstract |
A new species of Cladorhiza, C. methanophila sp. nov., is described from mud volcano fields and active sites of methane expulsion in the Barbados Trench, from 4700 to 4900 m depth. This species, the first reliable record of the genus in the Central Eastern Atlantic, is both carnivorous and associated with methanotrophic bacteria. |
