Abstract
A new genus, Fennerosquilla, is recognized for Chloridella heptacantha Chace, 1939, a species previously assigned to the genus Squilla. This new genus can be distinguished from Squilla by the presence of seven teeth on the dactylus of the claw and by the strongly bilobed lateral process of the sixth thoracic somite.
