Abstract
    The exogenous origin of cnidocysts has been observed in E. rubra using in vivo observations and electron microscopy. Their integration from tentacular canals to the tentacles where their evagination seems to be under the Euchlora nervous system control is described. Moreover, the ultrastructural study has shown that the intracapsular cnidocystic filament has five longitudinal pleats, a remarkable peculiarity.
