Abstract
In the Gironde estuary of the rivers Garonne and Dordogne (south west France) three gammarid amphipods live in pelagic conditions: Gammarus zaddachi, G. salinus and G. crinicornis . Their respective populations succeed from upstream to downstream in connection with the longitudinal salinity gradient. A systematic key for males of the three species is proposed for this estuary.
