Abstract
Climate change will increase the variability in water cycles around the world, which will lead to more frequent and serious extreme river discharges. Supply chains that rely on inland shipping will be faced with more disruptions. To further anticipate and reduce such risks, it is important to understand how different vessel and cargo types will respond. However, the existing literature often only focuses on specific types, as well as on limited discharge conditions.
