Abstract
The present study reports twelve species of Cypraeoidea belonging to nine genera and two families from the Gujarat coast, India. Naria erosa (Linnaeus 1758) and Margovula bimaculata (Adams 1855) reported and described for the first time from the Gujarat. Diminovula nielseni Cate 1976 and Crenavolva leopardus Fehse 2002 are sparsely distributed in the lower intertidal zone and reported for the first time from India. Erronea adusta persica Schilder and Schilder 1938 was formerly misidentified from India, described with true identity based on several specimens from Gujarat. Morphological description, habitat and present distribution status of the species are provided.
