| Abstract |
Inner microgranular, outer hyaline wall bearing tubular and planispirally coiled foraminifera are described in a new family, Pseudovidalinidae. This family includes involute, semiinvolute and evolute forms recognized in two genera. The previously described genus Pseudovidalina is characterized by the involute and semiinvolute tests while the evolute forms are assigned to a new genus, Angelina. Pseudovidalinidae n. fam. differs from Archaediscidae in having planispirally coiled tests showing a totaly different evolutionary trend and from Lasiodiscidae in the presence of hyaline umbilical thickening on both sides of the test, the absence of the supplementary sutural openings and tubular chamberlets.Pseudovidalinidae n. fam. is found in three regions in south and southeast Anatolia : Hakkari (Southeast Anatolia), eastern and central Taurides. The stratigraphic distribution of the family is from Murghabian to Lower Djulfian s.s. |
