Abstract
    A description is provided for Pleistophora macrozoarcidis, the only microsporidian recorded from Zoarces americanus, the ocean pout, a North Atlantic fish of the order Perciformes. Some information on its morphology, dispersal and transmission and conservation status is given, along with details of its geographical distribution (North America (Canada, Quebec, USA, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island)) and host (Zoarces americanus).
