| Abstract |
The present status of our knowledge about the Cymothoidae of Africa is summarized. Up to now forty-six species are known (12 Anilocrinae and 34 Cymothoinae), while nine other parasites remain unidentified. Among these African Cymothoidae, four species are collected on freshwater fishes. All others are marine species. Our actual knowledge on their geographical distribution, more or less wide in the various cases, and on their hosts, are reviewed. |
