Abstract
    In maart 2018 werd in het brakke water van het Schelde-estuarium nabij de Belgisch- Nederlandse grens een nieuwe soort tweekleppige gevonden. Het gaat om Potamocorbula amurensis, die nu de Nederlandse naam brakwaterkorfschelp heeft. In 2020 heeft deze soort zich verder westwaarts verspreid. De soort is duidelijk aan een opmars bezig.
