| Abstract |
Among 18 recorded Rissoidae species belonging to 3 genera, 13 are new for the Hellenic Seas, while Rissoa electrae n. sp. is described from East Thermaikos Gulf (North Aegean Sea) based on twelve specimens found in two locations at depths of 0.2 m and 5.0 m. The new species is compared with similar species of the genus (R. lilacina Récluz, 1843, R. similis Scacchi, 1836, R. splendida Eichwald, 1830 and R. violacea Desmarest, 1814), from which it differs in many characters, including teleoconch micro and macro sculpture and animal colour. The laborious, diverse and very careful efforts for the collection of minute gastropod specimens are emphasized. |
