| Abstract |
The Upper Eocene (Priabonian) species of Dnipro (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine) belonging to the Cypraeoidea are studied. 17 species are recognised, divided between 10 genera. In this first part of the study, the systematics of 7 species of Cypraeidae is presented here. 5 new species are described: Borystheniella incisa nov. sp., S. gracilenta nov. sp., S. zamberlani nov. sp., Praerosaria stefanskyii nov. sp. and P. borysthenis nov. sp. The new genus Borystheniella is proposed. Bernaya excellens (von Koenen, 1890) and Subepona anhaltina (Giebel, 1861), described at the origin from the Lattorfian (Priabonian, Upper Eocene) of Deutschland, are reported for the first time in the Priabonian of Ukraine. Another, two new species, Subepona cluzaudi nov. sp. and Praerosaria besucus nov. sp. are introduced from the Bartonian (Middle Eocene) of Aquitaine Basin (France) and Paris Basin (France), respectively. |
