Abstract
The new species Darioconus rosiae sp. nov. is described from material obtained during the last ten years from local fishermen in the area surrounding Ambatomilo, North of Toliara, South-West of Madagascar. This species has been collected alive from 3 m deep on the extern slope of the reef. The new species is compared to Darioconus behelokensis (Lauer, 1989), D. corbieri (Blöcher, 1994), D. vezoi (Korn, Niederhöfer & Blöcher, 2000) and D. praelatus (Hwass in Bruguière, 1792).
