| Abstract |
The examination of the type material of Cardita hebertiana d'Orbigny, 1850 from the Maastrichtian of Vertus (Marne) and from the Danian of Le Port-Marly (Yvelines) and Meudon (Hauts-de-Seine) shows that several species were confused. The specimens from Vertus are completely in accordance with the description and thus correspond well to C. hebertiana, which is assigned to Glyptoactis (Baluchicardia). A lectotype is designated for this species. On the other hand, the Danian specimens from Le Port-Marly and Meudon differobviously from the diagnosis given by Orbigny for C. hebertiana. They correspond to three other species, among which one describedfrom the Belgian Danian, Venericor duponti (Cossmann, 1908), is recorded for the first time in the Paris Basin (France). The two other species are new and are named: Venericardia elisabethae nov. sp. and Paraglans lydiae nov. sp. |
