Abstract
A new species of genus Obba Beck, 1837 is described from Sibuyan Island of the Philippines and compared to five other species of this genus: Obba parmula (Broderip, 1841), Obba planulata (Lamarck, 1822), Obba columbaria (Sowerby, 1841), Obba horizontalis (Pfeiffer, 1845) and Obba brunnescens (Möllendorff, 1892). It is characterized by the lack of spiral banding, presence of a strong basal tooth and a notch formed by intersection between upper margin of outer lip and last part of body whorl.
