Abstract
The species Volvarina angustata (Sowerby, 1846), V. verreauxi (Jousseaume, 1875) and V. mabellae (Melvill & Standen, 1901), are revised and gathered in a group V. angustata. Three new species are described in this same complex: V. cingalica sp. nov., V. bifurcata sp. nov. and V. somwangi sp. nov. The complex V. angustata seems to be a radiation restricted to the northern Indian Ocean, from the east coast of India to the Malacca Straits. Affinities ofthis group with the Atlantic fauna are highlighted.
