Abstract
Profundiconus stahlschmidti sp. nov. is described from shell grit material taken at the Togian Islands, Sulawesi, Indonesia at 10 to 50m depth. The new species is characterized by the very small shell length, an elongated conical shell shape with a high conical spire, and a white, large, almost bulbous, paucispiral protoconch. The new species is compared to Profundiconus pacificus (Moolenbeek & Röckel, 1996), Profundiconus scopulicola Okutani, 1972 and Mitraconus cylindraceus (Broderip & G. B. Sowerby 1,1830).
