Abstract
    A new species of Columbellidae: Parametaria barbieri sp. nov. is introduced as new to science. The species originates from deep water aroundBalut Island, Philippines. The generic placement of this species is uncertain and it is compared with Parametaria epamella (Duclos, 1840).
