Abstract
The fourth part of the series deals with the subfamily Erosariinae F. A. SCHILDER, 1924. These could be called as the most modern one of the four subfamilies of the Cypraeidae, due to the fact that most species of them occur in the Pleistocene. Their roots however reach back in the lower Eocene of western Europe and northern America. In the collection SCHILDER unfortunately can be found only species of the last two genera, even a few species of other genera of this subfamily lived already since the Oligocene in the nowadays Indo-Pacific (M. SCHILDER & F. A. SCHILDER, 1971: 57-66) and some of them were new described by FRANZ ALFRED SCHILDER. In contrast to M. SCHILDER & F. A. SCHILDER (1971:57) LORENZ & HUBERT (1993: 85), the genus Austrocypraea COSSMANN, 1903 belongs to the subfamily Erroneinae F. A. SCHILDER, 1925 (= Cypraeovulinae F. A. SCHILDER, 1925), so this is not treated in the fourth part.
