Abstract
A sample of 'head brickearth' from Reculver, Kent, yielded a typical loess fauna comprising Pupilla muscorum, Succinea oblonga, Columella columella, Trichia hispida and Deroceras sp. Thermoluminescence dates in the range 17-23,000 years BP, demonstrate that this loess accummulated during the early part of the Late Devensian.
