Abstract
The community of mobile benthic macroinvertebrates at Punta de San Lorenzo, province of Santa Elena was analyzed. The samplings made in the intertidal strata (supralittoral, mesolitoral and infralittoral), during July - December 2017, registered 7 648 individuals and identified three phylas (Mollusca, Echinodermata and Arthropoda), with five classes, being Gastropoda the most representative with 22 species , being the most representative: Siphonaria palmata with 9.2 individuals/m², Cerithium gallapaginis with 5.0 individuals/m², Anachis rugulosa - Echinolittorina rugulosa with 11.73 and 15.22 individuals/m² and the echinoderm Echinometra vanbrunti with 21.13 individuals/m²; at the level of strata the mesolithral represented the highest abundance and diversity 43.0 % and 2.9 bits, while the lowest was in the supralittoral with 26.0 % and 0.8 bits, at the level of transects no differences were observed between zones and diversity was considered normal in a range of 2.0 - 2.4 bits.
