Abstract
    The rare dragonet Callionymus aagilis Fricke, 1999, is redescribed on the basis of a female specimen from Mauritius, Mascarene Islands. Female characters, sexual dimorphism, and habitat of the species are described and discussed. Callionymus aagilis is compared with related species. A key to callionymid fish species of the westernIndian Ocean and the Red Sea is presented.
