Abstract
Cocotropus steinitzi is described from one specimen from Elat, Red Sea and another from the Andaman Islands, NE Indian Ocean. Unlike other species of Cocotropus, the new species has the lateral line arched over the pectoral fin and high up on the side of the body. Comparisons with other species of Cocotropus are made.
