Abstract
Two new species (silus and convictor) are described and illustrated in this review of a tropical West Atlantic genus whose four species inhabit sponges. The relationships of Evermannichthys lie with Risor ruber and the Gobiosoma complex of gobies that possess seven spines in the first dorsal fin.
