Abstract
A new moray from the Canary Islands, with mottled brown coloration, the posteriorjaw pores set in white spots, and serrate teeth, is described and illustrated. It is tentatively assigned to the genus Gymnothorax, sensu lato. It differs from most morays in possessing only one branchial pore, and differs from other Atlantic species of Gymnothorax in its biserial maxillary and vomerine dentition.
