Abstract
Measurements of a mammoth tibia from the collection Reinink are compared with those of I 19 mammoth tibias from various museums and private collections. In majority they are from the Brown Bank area in the North Sea, the Eurogeul-Maasvlakte 2 area, the river Meuse and from Gewande (province Noord-Brabant, Netherlands). A provisional conclusion is that the tibia of the woolly mammoth varies in length of the diaphysis to complete bone, from probably 9.5 to at least 83 cm. Likewise the variation in the appearance of the tibia is enormous.
