Abstract
The cockle is a major sentinel species in the operation of coastal ecosystems. This book addresses the state of knowledge on the deposits, reproduction cycle, health issues, regulatory provisions, stock control and the resulting operating possibilities. It is targeting scientists, ecologists and managers. Fishermen, naturalists and marine biology students will also find it a source of useful information.
