Abstract
eventy-five species of Acari were collected from the littoral and supralittoral zones on a number of shores in the Isles of Scilly, Cornwall, South Devon and Dorset. Many of the species recorded are new records, or at least new shore records to the area. Vulgarogamasus halophilus (Willmann) (Parasitidae) is new to the British fauna.
