Abstract
The electrochemical analysis of hydrothermal fluids and the ambient seawater with fuel cells installed in deep-sea hydrothermal vents provided evidence for the possibility of generating electricity in the deep sea. The illumination of light-emitting diodes in the dark environment also confirmed this prospect.
