During a stay on the Faroe Islands in July 1998, a clos look at different marine biotopes was an occasion to collect a wide range of molluscs. This has been summarized in a lecture given at a meeting of the Belgian Society of Malacology in November 1999. The puzzle of species reconstitutes a typical fauna at the confluent of the cold Arctic waters and the warmer waters coming from the Gulf Stream. Each biotope is here described.
