Abstract
    The author studies the osteology of Zanclites xenurus, a fossil from the marine Upper Cretaceous of Kansas. He redefines the genus, shows its autapomorphies, confirms its belonging to the Tselfatiiformes (=Bananogmiiformes) and discusses about its relationships within this taxon.
