Abstract
Hastula dominicana sp. nov. is described as new and compared to it conchological congeners in the western Atlantic and Caribbean. The status of the widely used taxon Hastula stylata (Hinds, 1844) for an Indo-Pacific species is questioned, re-evaluated and linked to Hastula cinerea (Bom, 1778); Hastula confusa (Hinds, 1877) is raised out of synonymy of Hastula inconstans (Hinds, 1844) and applied to specimens previously considered as H. stylata.
