Abstract
Bugulina simplex got introduced from the Mediterranean Sea to our regions as part of the biofouling community on hulls of ships and yachts. Its area of origin is unknown. B. simplex appears bushy and was observed in 2000 for the first time in Belgian waters, more specifically, in the marina of Ostend. All observations of this species come from harbours and marinas.
