Abstract |
The Principal Components Analysis (PCA) is a very useful factor-analysis method for any hydrochemical study. In the present work the results of the application of this method to chemical analysis of water samples of the Aquifer System no.25 are exposed in order to study the origin of the saline content of these waters and its temporal and spatial evolution. An obvious temporal progressive increase of mineralization (Cl and Na mainly) is observed particularly in the wells located in the the central-western area of the littoral belt. This fact is interpreted as a marine intrusion although still not very well developped. |
