Abstract
As a result of further refinement of the genus Calvinaria STAINBROOK, 1945, Canavirila n. gen., and its type species, C. atrousensis n. sp., are proposed. Species of the new genus are found in the middle Frasnian of Belgium (Dinant Basin), the Community of Independent States (for instance in the Ural Mountains), France (Rade de Brest, Armorican Massif), Germany (Eifel), Morocco (Tafilalt), the United States of America (Nevada), and, possibly, of Canada (Hudson Platform).
