Abstract
    Commercial, intramuscular tags were tested on Penaeus japonicus shrimps, together with the clipping of the uropods and an original technique based on plastic eye-rings. All types of tags were still in place and readable after molting. Survival of the "soft" marked prawns was not different from that of the controls.
