Abstract
In this paper, the recent developments of our hydrodynamic numerical simulation model for the North Sea region, will be presented. The model was established based on the finite difference method (FDM) solutions of the depth integrated two dimension shallow water equations. Instead of using the conventional semi-implicit ADI scheme, a splitting-up in time and space has been used to solve the governing partial differential equations. Instead of using the conventional semi-implicit ADI scheme, a splitting-up in time and space has been used to solve the governing partial differential equations. The falsified alternating direction implicit (FADI) scheme will be introduced briefly.
