Abstract
Four field campaigns in the sub-Antartic (South Georgia and Crozet-archipelago) yielded the necessary peat and lake sequences for palaeoclimatological research. Palaeobryology was successfully applied on a Holocene peat sequence from South Georgia. Further investigation of existing sequences will complete the knowledge of the palaeoclimatological history of the terrestrial sub-Antartic province.
