The sea played a crucial part in World War I. A part on which too little attention has been paid. For this reason, and on the occasion of the centenary of the First World War, VLIZ has dedicated a special issue of the De Grote Rede magazine to this topic.

The Flemish Aquaculture Platform - founded in 2012 by Flanders' Minister-President Kris Peeters - launched its new website. It aims to map the aquaculture landscape in Flanders, and in doing so it acts as a forum for knowledge and information exchange between the different players.
