This dataset is a compiled species list of all Vulnerable Marine Ecosystems (VME) indicators established by existing Regional fisheries management organisations (RFMOs), standardised according to the identifiers of the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS). The original document source of each is indicated in the data. Since some of the RFMOs provide a revision each year, the list is up to date for 2025. The updates sources are established in the data. Note no RFMO for the South West Atlantic has been estabished. Lineage
The dataset is a compilation of all Vulnerable Marine Ecosystem (VME) indicators established by each Regional fisheries management organisation (RFMOs) according to their regulations and documents. A link to the original documentation is established in the data.
Taxa provided without an official taxonomic nomenclature were mapped using the ASFIS List of Species for Fishery Statistics Purposes.
