Description
Monthly time series of phytoplankton species abundance at several depths of the water column in a fixed oceanographic station off Vigo (NW Spain) more
Phytoplankton abundance at several depth strata (0, 5, 10, 30 m) collected in a fixed oceanograpgic station in the Northwest Iberian shelf (station depth 39 m) off Vigo. Monthly sampling at sea with regional Research Vessel. Sample acquisition using Niskin bottles with a rossette sampler equiped with CTD probe and other automatic sensors (e.g. in vivo fluorescence). Fixation and preservation of samples with Lugol. Analysis at the laboratory under the inverted microscope following Uthermol protocols. Scientific names according to World Register of Marine Science (WoRMS). Periodical intercalibration among expert phytoplankton taxonomists. Scope Themes: Biology > Ecology - biodiversity, Biology > Plankton > Phytoplankton Keywords: Marine/Coastal, lowered unmanned submersible, research vessel, Time series, EurOBIS calculated BBOX, Spain, Vigo Geographical coverage EurOBIS calculated BBOX Stations
